LIGHT REPAIRS
A dark pool is an unsafe pool. Whether your light has gone out, is flickering, leaking water into the niche, or needs an upgrade to modern LED our technicians handle all pool and spa lighting repairs safely and correctly.
Our Services
Pool lighting repairs involve submerged electrical systems this is not a DIY task. Incorrect handling of pool light fixtures, conduit, or wiring can create serious shock hazards in and around the water. All pool electrical work should be performed by a certified technician with the proper equipment and safety protocols.

POOL & SPA LIGHT REPAIRS
lighting serves both a practical and aesthetic purpose it makes nighttime swimming safe, extends the usable hours of your pool, and dramatically improves the appearance of your backyard after dark. When a light fails or starts causing problems, it affects both the safety and the enjoyment of your pool. At Pool Tech USA, we repair all types of pool and spa lighting, from traditional incandescent and halogen fixtures to modern LED and fiber optic systems.
Our technicians are trained and certified to work safely on submerged pool electrical systems. We carry the right diagnostic equipment to trace faults through the light conduit, test for moisture intrusion at the junction box, and evaluate the condition of the light niche before recommending the appropriate repair or replacement approach.
Common Pool Light Issues We Fix
A light that simply won’t turn on is the most common complaint, and the cause can range from a blown bulb or lamp to a tripped GFCI breaker, a failed transformer on low-voltage systems, or a fault in the wiring between the junction box and the fixture. Our technicians work through the circuit systematically testing the breaker, the transformer if applicable, the conduit for continuity, and finally the fixture itself to identify exactly where the failure has occurred before any work begins.
Water inside the light fixture is a serious issue that requires immediate attention. Pool light niches contain a sealed lens assembly that keeps the electrical components dry, but the gasket that seals the lens degrades over time particularly on older incandescent fixtures where heat cycling accelerates wear. When the seal fails, water enters the fixture and can cause the bulb to blow immediately upon use, create a ground fault that trips the GFCI, or in some cases introduce moisture into the conduit that runs back to the junction box. We replace the lens gasket, inspect the niche for any cracks or damage, and verify watertight integrity before the light is returned to service.
Flickering or intermittently working lights are typically caused by a loose connection somewhere in the circuit either at the fixture itself, inside the conduit, or at the junction box. Connections that are exposed to pool water chemistry over many years can corrode, increasing resistance and causing unreliable operation. We open the circuit, clean or replace corroded connections, and seal them properly to restore consistent performance.
LED Upgrades Brighter, Cooler, Lower Cost
If your pool has older incandescent or halogen lighting, a repair visit is often an ideal opportunity to discuss an LED upgrade at the same time. Modern LED pool lights use a fraction of the energy of incandescent bulbs, produce significantly less heat in the niche which extends the life of the lens gasket and surrounding components and are available in a wide range of color options including programmable color-changing systems that can be controlled via your automation system or a dedicated remote.
In many cases an LED lamp can be retrofitted directly into your existing niche and fixture without requiring a full fixture replacement, making the upgrade straightforward and cost-effective. Our technicians will assess your existing fixture during the repair visit and let you know whether a direct lamp swap is possible or whether a full fixture change would be needed to achieve the result you’re looking for.
